Fun Fall Festivals Coming to Onslow County!
It’s almost that time of year where we set aside our swimsuits and flip-flops and gear up for colorful leaves and pumpkin-flavored everything! What better way to celebrate the crisp weather and changing colors than with your very own community? From yummy food to live music to outdoor activities, the calendar in and around Onslow County is filled with events for a fun fall season.
Riverwalk Palooza
September 16-17th
Downtown Jacksonville, NC
You do not want to miss the 14th annual Riverwalk Palooza in Downtown Jacksonville! Delight in the scenic New River while creating unforgettable memories with family and friends. Kick off the start of the season with river activities, delicious food, endless entertainment, and even a Moonlight Cruise. Riverwalk Palooza remains Jacksonville’s most successful annual festival.Â
Wilmington Riverfest
October 8th-9th
Historic Downtown Wilmington, NC
Experience the charm of Historic Downtown Wilmington while you enjoy craft vendors, concessions galore, fireworks, and more! Riverfest is marked as one of the largest Southeastern Coastal Carolina fall festivals. Attracting both locals and tourists, this free event draws in nearly a quarter-million people each year. Celebrate the upcoming season as you stroll down the beautiful Cape Fear Riverwalk!
Autumn with Topsail
October 15-16th
Assembly Building Grounds, Topsail Beach, NC
The Historical Society of Topsail Island hosts a fabulous festival each year, displaying the work of regional artists. It also includes a beer and wine garden, a variety of food vendors, live music, and amusement rides for kids. Don’t forget to bring your “shagging†shoes for dancing. Adult admission is $5 for a one-day pass and $8 for a two-day pass. Children under 11 years old and Military receive free admission.
Onslow Oktoberfest
October 20th-22nd
Onslow Community OutreachÂ
Raising funds to support Onslow Community Outreach, this three-day event features live entertainment, children’s activities, and a 5k benefit run. You can even crown the future Miss Onslow Oktoberfest! Not only will this weekend be a guaranteed good time, but it also donates its funds to various organization: Onslow Soup Kitchen, Caring Community Clinic, Homeless Shelter, Benevolence Assistance Program, and Christmas Cheer.
Spooktakular
October 28-29th
Onslow Pines Park Â
It wouldn’t be Fall without a Halloween Festival! Spooktacular is a frightfully fun time, including a Haunted Hay Ride, Pony Rides, a Car Show, Costume Contest, and more! This family-friendly weekend is sponsored by Onslow County Parks & Recreation Department and Haws Run Rescue. Dress in your best costume and make it a happy Halloween this year.
